Duel issues

1. What happens if adjudicators submit different results?

If adjudicators submit different results, all parties involved in the duel are notified and adjudicators are given 4 hours to resubmit their results. If there still remains a discrepancy between results after resubmission, WoW Contender Support is notified and will investigate the dispute.
2. What happens if there is a duel dispute?

If there is a dispute during a duel and adjudicators cannot agree on a result, then they are to select the dispute box within the Adjudicator Submit page and the duel will be investigated by WoW Contender Support.
Please note - If adjudicators do not submit a result (dispute in this case) they will lose 5 rank points and receive warnings.
3. How long do I have as an adjudicator to submit my duel result?

Adjudicators have 12 hours from the time of the duel to submit their results. If adjudicators fail to submit a result by the given time, then they are sent an alert and given an extra hour to submit their result.
4. What happens if both Adjudicators don't submit the duel result?

If both adjudicators fail to submit a result, they lose 5 rank points each and receive a warning. Contenders receive no change to their ranking.
5. What happens if only 1 adjudicator submits the duel result?

If only 1 adjudicator submits a duel result, their submission is considered as the correct result. The adjudicator that failed to submit a result loses 5 rank points and is given a warning.
6. What happens if both adjudicators don't turn up to a duel?

If both adjudicators do not turn up to a duel then the duel is cancelled and it is up to the contenders to contact WoW Contender Support using our contact form (Subject: "Adjudicator no show")
Both adjudicators will lose 5 rank points and will be given a warning. Contenders receive no change to their ranking.
7. What happens if only 1 Adjudicator turns up to a duel?

All parties involved in a duel are given 10 minutes from the time of the scheduled duel to arrive at the specified location of the duel within World of Warcraft. If an adjudicator does not turn up, contenders may choose to continue the duel with only one adjudicator present or the duel may be cancelled.
If the duel proceeds with 1 adjudicator, the adjudicator is to submit an Adjudicator no show result along with the duel results using the Adjudicator Submit page.
If the duel is cancelled, the adjudicator present at the duel must still submit an Adjudicator no show result (and leave the duel result checkboxes empty) using the Adjudicator Submit page.
By providing a result the adjudicator present will receive 5 rank points. The adjudicator not present at the duel will lose 5 rank points and receive a warning. Contenders receive no points if the duel is cancelled.
Please note - If the adjudicator present at the duel does not submit a result (in this case an Adjudicator no show result) both adjudicators will lose 5 rank points and receive warnings.
8. What happens if both contenders don't turn up to a duel?

If both contenders do not turn up to a duel then adjudicators submit a Contender no show result for both contenders. Adjudicators will receive 5 rank points each. Contenders will lose 7 rank points.
Please note - If the adjudicators do not submit a Contender no show result for both contenders they will lose 5 rank points and receive warnings.
9. What happens if only 1 contender turns up to a duel?

10. What does a duel consist of?

A duel is a best out of 3 battle contest between 2 level 80 World of Warcraft players.
11. How many rank points do I get for winning a duel?

If you win your duel without losing a battle you are awarded 7 rank points.
If you win your duel, but lose one of your battles you are awarded 4 rank points.
12. How many rank points do I get deducted for losing a duel?

If you lose your duel without winning a battle you are subtracted 7 rank points.
If you lose your duel, but win a battle you are subtracted 4 rank points.
13. What is the maximum and minimum duel wager within WoW Contender?

The maximum amount of gold each Contender can wager is 5000 gold. The minimum wager to be able to register a duel is 10 gold. This is to ensure that adjudicators are paid for their services.
14. What happens if I get ganked during a duel?

If a contender gets ganked during a duel then that battle is replayed.
15. How much time do I have between duel battles?

Contenders are allowed a maximum of 5 minutes preparation time between duel battles. This time should be monitored by adjudicators.
Alternatively if contenders agree upon a longer preparation time between duel battles, then that time may be used.

16. What is an adjudicator?

An adjudicator serves as a 'referee' during a duel and has the responsibility of holding their contender's wager. Each contender must have an adjudicator present at the duel.
17. Who can be an adjudicator?

An adjudicator can be any registered WoW Contender user that has a level 80 World of Warcraft character in the same zone/realm/faction as your registered World of Warcraft character.
18. What percentage of the wager do the adjudicators receive?

10% of the wager goes to each adjudicator. The remaining 80% is given to the winning contender.
In the case where only one adjudicator is present at a duel and all parties present agree to continue the duel, the adjudicator present will receive 20% of the wager.
19. Why are adjudicators allocated rank points?

Adjudicators are allocated rank points because it gives contenders an indication how 'trusted' adjudicators are when they choose them for their duel.
It also gives adjudicators an incentive to act in a fair and honest manner as they will be requested to adjudicate more duels if they have a higher ranking and therefore have the opportunity to make a lot more gold for themselves. There are 5 adjudicator rankings to attain.

20. What is the Black List?

The Black List shows registered WoW Contender users that have had their account banned. Banned users will never again be able to participate as contenders or adjudicators on WoW Contender. The Black List will remain on WoW Contender branding the user a dishonest player. As a result this could have repercussions on your reputation within World of Warcraft.
21. How many warnings are you allowed before you are banned from WoW Contender?

A user is allowed 3 warnings before they are banned from WoW Contender.
22. How do I upload my duel to WoW Contender?

If you have recorded a duel and wish to upload it to WoW Contender for other users to view and comment on then you will need to upload it to a video clip directory such as YouTube and provide us with the appropriate link using our contact form (Subject: "Duel clip upload"). We will select the best duel to appear on our home page for a period of time.
23. Why can't I activate my account?

If you are having trouble activating your account when clicking on your activation link within your email, then please copy and paste the activation link into a new browser. If you still experience issues please contact us.
24. How do I use the WoW Contender forum?

You are free to browse our forum without registering with WoW Contender. However in order to actively participate in our forum you will have to register with WoW Contender. WoW Contender uses one login for both our member area and forum so once registered and logged in a member has access to both.
